Privacy Policy

      Tasky does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything stays on your device.
    

1. Information We Collect

All data you create in Tasky — tasks, subtasks, notes, due dates, reminders, priorities, categories, recurring schedules, and settings — is stored locally on your device only. It never leaves your device and is never sent to any server, third party, or developer.

Tasky has no account system, no login, and no cloud sync. The app is fully offline-first — internet is only ever used for the optional Premium in-app purchase or if your device's speech recognition service requires a network connection.

2. Permissions We Request

Microphone — RECORD_AUDIO

Used exclusively for the voice input feature, which lets you add tasks by speaking. Audio is captured only while you are actively using voice input and is processed immediately by Android's speech recognition system. Tasky does not record, store, or transmit any audio.

Speech Recognition — RECOGNIZE_SPEECH

Required alongside microphone access to convert your spoken words into task text. On most devices this is processed entirely on-device. On some Android devices, however, the system's speech recognition service may use a network connection to improve accuracy — this is handled by Android itself, not by Tasky, and Tasky does not receive, store, or transmit any audio or transcript.

Notifications — POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Used to deliver task reminders you schedule yourself. Notifications are generated and displayed entirely on-device. No notification content or metadata is sent to any external service.

Exact Alarms — USE_EXACT_ALARM

Required on Android 12 and later to schedule reminders at the precise time you set. Without this permission, reminder notifications may be delayed by the system. This permission is used solely for on-device alarm scheduling and involves no data collection or transmission.

File Access — Storage / SAF

Used only when you explicitly trigger the Export feature to save a backup of your tasks to a location you choose. Tasky uses Android's system file picker (Storage Access Framework) and does not access, read, or scan any other files or folders on your device.

3. Data Storage

All task data is stored locally on your device using the app's private storage.
Data persists across app updates but is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app.
Tasky has no account system, no login, and no cloud synchronisation.
The app works fully offline. An internet connection is only used if you choose to unlock Tasky Premium via an in-app purchase, or if your device's speech recognition service requires network access.
Backup exports are saved only to the folder you explicitly select.

4. Third-Party Services

Tasky does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data collection services.

The voice input feature uses Android's on-device speech recognition, a system-level service provided by Android. On some devices this service may use a network connection. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Android's speech recognition service operates on your device.

Tasky offers an optional Tasky Premium upgrade processed through Google Play Billing. If you choose to purchase Premium, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. Tasky receives only a confirmation of your purchase status — no payment details, no personal information. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how Google Play handles purchase data.

5. Children's Privacy

Tasky does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because no data is collected at all, the app is safe for all ages.

6. Data Security

Since all data remains on your device, its security is governed by your device's own security settings — screen lock, biometrics, and full-disk encryption. We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date.

7. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
